463 Individuals Arrested Over Outstanding Warrants

Sri Lanka Police have released the daily report of a nationwide special operation launched on the instructions of the Inspector General of Police Sri Lanka to curb crime and drug-related activities.

The operation was carried out across the country, involving all police stations at divisional level, with the aim of apprehending suspects linked to various criminal activities.

According to the report, a total of 28,828 individuals were searched yesterday, leading to the arrest of 664 suspects.

Among those arrested:

  • 25 individuals were directly linked to criminal activities
  • 297 individuals had outstanding arrest warrants
  • 166 individuals were wanted under open warrants

Additionally:

  • 103 individuals were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol
  • 53 individuals were arrested for reckless driving
  • 4,166 individuals were apprehended for other traffic violations 🚔

These operations are part of ongoing efforts by the Sri Lanka Police to strengthen law enforcement and maintain public safety across the country.
