Office Train Services to Continue Despite Derailment

Sri Lanka Railways has decided to continue office train services without cancellation, despite the derailment of the Sagarika Express this morning (24).

The train, which was traveling from Beliatta to Maradana, derailed in the Waththa area, causing a complete disruption on the double railway line.

Authorities stated that trains will operate up to the affected section, where passengers will be transferred and transported by another train to their destinations.

However, a final decision regarding long-distance train services has not yet been announced.

Railway officials are continuing efforts to manage the situation and restore normal operations as soon as possible.
