Aswesuma Beneficiaries Notified of April Payments

The Welfare Benefits Board has announced that April payments under the Aswesuma welfare scheme will be credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts starting today (22).

The government has taken special measures to ensure timely disbursement of funds, considering festive season expenses and the welfare of elderly citizens.

Priority has been given to beneficiaries aged over 70 in this month’s payment distribution. Funds have been allocated in two phases:

• A total of Rs. 3.087 billion will be distributed among 617,406 beneficiaries aged over 70.
• An additional Rs. 362.6 million will be provided to 72,525 beneficiaries within the same age group.

Eligible beneficiaries are advised to check their bank accounts to receive the respective payments, the Board stated.
