Its main objective is to provide quality accommodation facilities for artists from remote areas who come to Colombo for artistic activities.<\/p>\n<p>The inspection visit was attended by Chairman of the Sri Lanka Arts Council Keerthi Welisarage, veteran actor Mahinda Pathirage, Chairman of the Visual Arts Sub-Committee Pragith Ratnayake, writer Kaushalya Kumarasinghe, along with several other artists.<\/p>\n<p>Also present were Additional Secretary (Cultural Promotion and Foreign Affairs) Dhammika Wijesinghe and Director (Cultural Promotion) Dr. Prasad Ranasinghe, representing the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, along with a group of government officials.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The proposed \u201cArtists\u2019 Residency\u201d at Madivela, which will provide new opportunities for Sri Lankan artists to engage in creative work, relaxation, and interaction with fellow artists, was inspected recently (12) by Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi.
