In his statement, the MP said that some failed politicians may find satisfaction in the arrest of a young singer in the current political climate, but for him, it is a matter of deep sorrow rather than celebration.<\/p>\n
He noted that many people have only begun speaking about the young artist after his arrest, whereas his talent and creative work had largely gone unnoticed until now.<\/p>\n
Ilankumaran added that it is somewhat comforting that the artist\u2019s talent is now receiving public attention, even though it has come under unfortunate circumstances.<\/p>\n
The MP emphasized that music is a form of art that expresses people\u2019s emotions and experiences. He suggested that future legal reforms should ensure that artists are not adversely affected when expressing themselves through music and creativity.<\/p>\n
He also highlighted that there are many talented singers, musicians, and actors in the Northern and Eastern provinces, but they often do not receive adequate recognition or opportunities.<\/p>\n
According to Ilankumaran, in several cases, the works of artists are used by others for financial gain, while genuine creators struggle to gain opportunities for advancement.<\/p>\n
He further remarked that it is only after the arrest of the singer that many people have started paying attention to his work and talent.<\/p>\n
