{"id":2335,"date":"2026-06-09T14:59:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-09T14:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tamilmail.lk\/english\/?p=2335"},"modified":"2026-06-09T14:59:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-09T14:59:09","slug":"northern-waters-fishing-boat-rescued-with-navy-assistance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tamilmail.lk\/english\/2026\/06\/09\/northern-waters-fishing-boat-rescued-with-navy-assistance\/","title":{"rendered":"Northern Waters Fishing Boat Rescued with Navy Assistance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Sri Lankan fishing boat that encountered difficulties in deep waters north of Sri Lanka due to adverse weather conditions has been successfully rescued by the Sri Lanka Navy.<\/p>\n<p>The rescue operation was launched following information received from the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources regarding a fishing vessel carrying three fishermen that had lost communication with shore while operating in northern waters.<\/p>\n<p>Under the coordination of the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Colombo, the Navy deployed vessels and conducted search operations on 6 and 7 June 2026.<\/p>\n<p>During the operation, the distressed fishing boat and its three crew members were located in waters off Analaitivu and safely rescued on 7 June 2026.
