Secretary General of Parliament Kushani Rohanadeera<\/strong> announced that Parliament will convene from 09 June to 12 June 2026<\/strong>, following a decision taken at the recent meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business chaired by Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Accordingly, on all sitting days, time has been allocated from 9.30 a.m. to 10.00 a.m.<\/strong> for Parliamentary business listed under Standing Order 22 (Items 1 to 6). This will be followed by Questions for Oral Answers<\/strong> from 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m.<\/strong>, and questions under Standing Order 27(2)<\/strong> from 11.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Wednesday, June 10<\/strong>, time has been specially allocated from 10.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.<\/strong> for questions directed to the Prime Minister, followed by Questions for Oral Answers from 10.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

June 9 (Tuesday)<\/h3>\n

From 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.<\/strong>, Parliament will debate and approve several Orders under:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Stamp Duty (Special Provisions) Act<\/li>\n
  • Ports and Airports Development Levy Act<\/li>\n
  • Excise (Special Provisions) Act<\/li>\n
  • Value Added Tax (VAT) Act<\/li>\n
  • Resolution under Standing Order 119<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Thereafter, from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.<\/strong>, a Resolution under the Public Security Ordinance<\/strong> will be debated and approved.<\/p>\n

    June 10 (Wednesday)<\/h3>\n

    From 11.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.<\/strong>, Parliament will take up:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Telecommunications Levy (Amendment) Bill<\/li>\n
    • Second Reading of the Finance (Amendment) Bill<\/li>\n
    • Resolution under the Essential Public Services Act<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      From 5.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.<\/strong>, an Adjournment Motion moved by the Opposition will be debated.<\/p>\n

      June 11 (Thursday)<\/h3>\n

      From 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.<\/strong>, Parliament will consider:<\/p>\n

      • Second Reading of the Mediation (Civil and Commercial Disputes) Bill<\/li>\n
      • Order under the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        From 1.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.<\/strong>, time has been allocated for an Opposition-led Adjournment Debate on the current situation in the country.<\/p>\n

        June 12 (Friday)<\/h3>\n

        From 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.<\/strong>, Parliament will debate and approve:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • Regulations under the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Act<\/li>\n
        • Supplementary Estimates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          From 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.<\/strong>, Parliament will continue, for a second day, the Adjournment Debate on the Central Bank of Sri Lanka\u2019s 2025 Economic Review Report<\/strong>, which commenced on 20 May 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

          In addition, at the request of Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Anil Jayantha<\/strong>, approval has been granted to conduct an awareness programme for Members of Parliament on 10 June<\/strong>, with the participation of the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka<\/strong> and senior Central Bank officials.
