The 4th meeting of the Japan\u2013Sri Lanka Business Environment Committee was held at the Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka on Tuesday (02).<\/p>\n
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Embassy of Japan, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), and Japanese companies operating in Sri Lanka. Officials from the Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce and other relevant government institutions also participated.<\/p>\n
In his opening remarks, Dr. Jayawarden, the newly appointed Acting Chairman of the BOI, expressed appreciation to all stakeholders from both Japan and Sri Lanka for their efforts in organizing the meeting. He emphasized the importance of the committee\u2019s work in fostering an enabling business environment and supporting Sri Lanka\u2019s goal of increasing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows to USD 2 billion.<\/p>\n
The Chairman of the JCCI, Mr. Kishi, also thanked all participants and highlighted the importance of continuing constructive dialogue to further strengthen economic and investment relations between Japan and Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n
The meeting included in-depth discussions on various business and investment-related challenges currently affecting Japanese companies operating in Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n
Participants exchanged views on issues faced by investors and explored ways to improve the country\u2019s business environment in order to encourage further Japanese investment and economic cooperation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
