Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister, Vijitha Herath, has stated that he attended a special discussion organized by members of the Sri Lankan community living in Melbourne, following an invitation extended to him.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the Minister said he had the opportunity to listen closely to a range of issues faced by Sri Lankans residing in Australia. He also briefed participants on the progressive decisions taken by the current government and its future plans to address these concerns.<\/p>\n
Minister Herath expressed his gratitude for the strong confidence and trust that the Sri Lankan community in Australia has placed in the new government. He emphasized that the government remains committed to working responsibly and ensuring that this trust is upheld.<\/p>\n
The discussion was held at the Springvale Town Hall and was attended by a large number of Sri Lankans. The Minister noted that the genuine interest shown by participants in Sri Lanka\u2019s new direction had given him great encouragement and strength.<\/p>\n
He further stated that he is scheduled to participate in several additional official meetings during his visit and hopes to meet Sri Lankan communities living in other Australian cities in the coming days.<\/p>\n
