Showers or thundershowers are likely at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Wind<\/h3>\n

Winds over the sea areas around Sri Lanka are expected to blow from the southwest<\/strong> at speeds of 30\u201340 km\/h<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Wind speeds may increase up to 60\u201365 km\/h at times<\/strong> in the sea areas off the coast extending from Mullaitivu to Chilaw via Kankesanthurai and Mannar<\/strong>, and from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In other sea areas around the island, wind speeds may increase up to 50 km\/h at times<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sea Conditions<\/h3>\n

The sea areas off the coast extending from Mullaitivu to Chilaw via Kankesanthurai and Mannar<\/strong>, and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota<\/strong>, are expected to be very rough at times<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Other sea areas around the island are expected to be fairly rough at times<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Wave heights in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kalpitiya to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle, and Hambantota<\/strong> may rise to 2.0\u20132.5 metres<\/strong>. (This refers to offshore wave heights and not waves reaching the shore.)<\/p>\n

Advisory<\/h3>\n

During thundershowers, strong gusty winds and very rough sea conditions may occur temporarily in the affected sea areas.<\/p>\n
