PMK founder Ramadoss has strongly condemned Sri Lankan Member of Parliament Ramanathan Archuna for allegedly issuing a public death threat against Naam Tamilar Katchi leader Seeman, insisting that Archuna should publicly apologize to both Seeman and the people of Tamil Nadu.<\/p>\n
Archuna had sharply criticized Seeman during a speech in Parliament. Responding to those remarks, Ramadoss stated in an official release that Eelam Tamils had carried out a long struggle for political and human rights for more than 75 years, enduring immense sacrifices and losses.<\/p>\n
He further noted that history has shown that internal conflicts and lack of unity among Tamils were major reasons for setbacks faced during the struggle.<\/p>\n
In this context, Ramadoss said that Archuna\u2019s statement targeting Seeman \u2014 reportedly saying, \u201cIf I had a weapon, I would have shot him\u201d \u2014 was completely against democratic values and political civility.<\/p>\n
He also alleged that such divisive politics aimed at weakening Tamil unity and opposing the growth of Tamil nationalist politics in Tamil Nadu would never be accepted by the Tamil people.<\/p>\n
Ramadoss further criticized the concerned governments for remaining silent while a parliamentarian from a neighboring country made such remarks publicly.<\/p>\n
Therefore, he urged Ramanathan Archuna to immediately withdraw his anti-democratic statement and issue a public apology to Seeman as well as to the people of Tamil Nadu.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
