However, police officers reportedly prevented the group from entering the memorial premises.<\/p>\n<p>The restriction led to a heated argument between the former minister\u2019s group and the police. During the confrontation, members of Weerawansa\u2019s group strongly criticized the current government over the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Tensions further escalated when the group attempted to proceed past the police barrier despite being denied entry.
