Sri Lanka Police have launched an investigation into the killing of a man and the serious injury of another person in the Boguduya area of Mamadala South, Ambalantota.<\/p>\n
Police stated that the deceased was a 34-year-old father of three children, while the injured individual was his father-in-law.<\/p>\n
According to investigations, three individuals had arrived at the victim\u2019s house intending to kill him. After the murder, the attackers allegedly removed the victim\u2019s head and left it beneath a statue at the Mamadala junction before fleeing the area.<\/p>\n
Police further revealed that the deceased had been a suspect in a triple murder that occurred on January 2 last year in the Alegoda West area of Ambalantota.<\/p>\n
He had been remanded in custody in connection with that case and was released on bail on March 30 this year.<\/p>\n
Investigators suspect the murder may have been carried out as an act of revenge related to the earlier triple homicide case.<\/p>\n
Police also recovered a locally manufactured firearm believed to have been brought and abandoned by the attackers at the scene.<\/p>\n
