The General Secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), Tilvin Silva, has strongly rejected social media reports claiming that a clash had taken place at the party\u2019s Pelawatte headquarters.<\/p>\n
Speaking in an interview with a YouTube channel, he described the circulating posts as baseless and \u201cludicrous attempts\u201d by what he called a bankrupt opposition.<\/p>\n
He said that misleading social media content, including false claims that he had been hospitalized following an alleged incident at Pelawatte, was widely shared without verification. He further noted that some opposition politicians even referred to these false reports during press briefings.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis shows the bankruptcy of the opposition. People will not believe these lies. How can such an opposition run a government?\u201d he questioned.<\/p>\n
Tilvin Silva also stated that the opposition is currently unsettled following the successful May Day rallies organized by the National People\u2019s Power (NPP) and ongoing expedited court cases.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe opposition is left without slogans now. We have proven wrong their claims that the government has lost its mandate or that they can mobilize people against it.
