Herath, stated that several key reservoirs are spilling water, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rajjanganaya Reservoir (Anuradhapura District)<\/li>\n<li>Sarabora Reservoir (Badulla District)<\/li>\n<li>Nallanda Reservoir (Kandy District)<\/li>\n<li>Dehuhuwa Reservoir<\/li>\n<li>Lunugamwehera Reservoir (Hambantota District)<\/li>\n<li>Tissawawa Reservoir<\/li>\n<li>Weerawila Reservoir<\/li>\n<li>Yoda Ela Reservoir<\/li>\n<li>Weheragala Reservoir (Hambantota District)<\/li>\n<li>Deduru Oya Reservoir (Kurunegala District)<\/li>\n<li>Alikodaar Reservoir (Monaragala District)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He further stated that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At Rajjanganaya Reservoir, 8 spill gates have been opened, releasing over 9,300 cubic feet per second (cusecs) into the Kala Oya.<\/li>\n<li>At Sarabora Reservoir, 5 spill gates (opened by 2 feet each) are releasing over 500 cusecs into the Mahaweli River.<\/li>\n<li>Nallanda Reservoir is releasing over 1,000 cusecs.<\/li>\n<li>Dehuhuwa Reservoir is releasing over 1,300 cusecs.<\/li>\n<li>Lunugamwehera Reservoir has 6 gates open, releasing over 4,000 cusecs into the Kirindi Oya.<\/li>\n<li>Weheragala Reservoir is releasing over 1,900 cusecs into the Manik River.<\/li>\n<li>Deduru Oya Reservoir is releasing over 2,800 cusecs through 2 gates.<\/li>\n<li>Alikodaar Reservoir is releasing over 500 cusecs into the Kirindi Oya.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, several medium-scale reservoirs\u2014including Thuruwila (Anuradhapura), Bomburu Ella (Badulla), Theberawawa (Hambantota), Sattathissa and Malinpotha (Monaragala), and Mailankulam (Vavuniya)\u2014are also overflowing.<\/p>\n<p>The department warned that water release levels may change depending on future rainfall conditions.
